Free map options

Mapster includes Maplibre out of the box, which doesn’t require an API key and doesn’t require any kind of signup. While Mapbox offers a lot more features and options, for your more basic maps, Maplibre is a fantastic option.

In the past, people used to use LeafletJS for free mapping, but it’s been left behind in modern web mapping in regards to vector tiling and more complex, advanced functionality. Maplibre, on the other hand, is actively supported by some very big players and is growing all the time in the open source mapping space.
